Need to wait for all the european guys and repost the reactos thingy
@blobyoumu HK guys are awake, what is the ReactOS thing? So curious now.
@clacke it's free open source OS written from scratch which is designed binary compatible with windows
@blobyoumu I know what ReactOS is. What is the thing? πŸ˜€

If you just discovered ReactOS, I am happy for you ( #xkcd1053 ). It's a really impressive project, even in light of it remaining in alpha stage for the foreseeable future.

I cannot but admire a person who sees something that looks
insurmountable, just keeps at it for 20 years, and still enjoys it and looks to the future. That's the hacker we need.
@clacke it got it's new release 0.4.13 which supposively has fixed usb support
@blobyoumu Yes! That sounds neat. I still haven't tried ReactOS on a physical machine (and only for a few minutes in a VM), sounds like actual usability for real-world tasks is inching ever closer.

It can already do cool things that Windows can't, like booting from btrfs. I'm curious if the USB update means (or if it was already possible, I didn't try) that ReactOS can now be used for running sketchy one-click-root applications from XDA forums.

That's what I keep the original Windows partition around for on my machines.
@clacke deffinitely worth to try when you have some spare time
