Joh kept my sister's partner (our friend) busy by dragging him around London to free locations and keeping up a constant stream of historical trivia. They had quite a good day together in the end, which is good because he was going to have a difficult time of it on his own.
Although my sister and I are both outraged that they visited a crypt without us. Angelica loves dead things and I have been steeling myself to visit dead places more recent than neolithic for research purposes.
@vicorva Oooh, the mention of dead places reminded me of a church I visited in Rome more than a decade ago. The walls and roof was decorated with human bones, it was both quite grotesque and beautiful.
A quick search leads me to believe it was this church:
CW: link contains images of _a lot_ of human bones and skulls used for decoration.

@zatnosk :O I must go there.
I would probably be FREAKED OUT but also that seems like exactly the kind of place I want to visit for story research!
Thanks for the link. ^_^
@zatnosk @aldersprig I'm *in* Europe and can't afford to go to any catacombs. Maybe someday!
(although I am all for Lyn doing this. Lyn, if you're ever in the UK, I will take you to all the very old places. ^_^)
