I really wish the mastodon admin interface had the option to temporarily deactivate accounts (maybe with access to their archives) instead of only "nuke from orbit and delete all their data".

@rixx A workaround could be to reset their password and send out an email.

@deni Well, that would still allow them to reset the password. I mean, there is even an active flag in the db, but if I have to go to the database to set it, then manually write an email etc

@rixx Oh wow okay. If it’s the DB it would add least be easy to expose it in the admin panel 🤷‍♂️
