Repeat after me - the Regional list system is a way to prevent change, by listening to the electorate on why they have rejected the candidate, and the party in the constituent vote...

It is not Proportional Representation, as long as it also has D;Hondt maths applied.

@crobertsonuk The Wings idea of a 2nd large independence party contesting only the regional vote was eventually explained so well that it seems an essential thing to do. Ideally, the SNP would only fight the constituency vote and the 2nd party would only fight the regional vote. Totally ideally, some like Paul Wheelhouse and Joan McAlpine would stand for the new party as they won't get elected in the constituency they fight. Too controversial?
