Extremely pleased to have provided the closing quote for this Verge article on the Twitter decentralization announcement.

@darius Yeah, my understanding is that whichever direction they do go with, they made explicit that it will be for the benifit of their advertising customers, not their users.
@darius it is a very good quote to be honest. :)
@darius good quote. Good thinking. Nicely done.
@darius good plan phrasing the quote so they couldn't chop off the start without chopping off the end and vice versa

@darius nice one. I should probably read that article soon.

I just got very distracted with UK Pol yesterday.

@darius
Unsure.

Their whole #TwitterBootstrap initiative was fairly successful in redefining how #websites were put together.

We are still trying to get some basic functionality on the #Fediverse over #Tor, like the ability to edit posts and post a profile image - even #Facebook have a #privacy service.

@dsfgs in addition to Bootstrap there are so so many other projects they've launched that haven't gone anywhere and that pretty much by definition you've never heard of, though

@darius
Interesting... had anyone made a list?

We recently stumbled across their #Twemoji (Twitter #emoji) project, which is picked up by #Mozilla. The twemoji even appear in #Tor #Browser! Not even #FontAwesome works over Tor.

Twitter do some pretty cool #openSource stuff - despite the fact we care little about #twitter as a platform.

This new project of theirs may result in nothing - but it could be substantial.

@darius 🔥🔥

They kill our families and destroy our mosques with the help of the apostate Arab tyrants, and when we strike back these same shaykhs race to mourn the death of the Crusaders

@darius Holy shit I'm so happy. I have yet to find anyone that sees this as anything other than bullshit! 😊
