@TathagataSatpathy As a first step, the code and the circuitry of the EVM should be published as Free (as in Freedom) Software for peer review, improvements and scrutiny. The code that runs on the EVM is written by humans and hence can contain errors. Could you please your good offices to campaign for making the EVM circuitry and software source code available?

@praveen There are various cryptographic means to ensure that same code is flashed into the hardware. For all of that, the pre-requisite is that the code is free and is build-able and reproducible.
Whether someone is misusing EVM is a separate issue, in my opinion that would have to be handled separately (like the method you are suggesting).

I am not sure EVM has any advantage. G.W. Bush was elected with strange errors with EVM, in south of USA and see how much wars he started.
Human counting has the advantage to be able to be fully counted by both camps of an election or law vote.
On the other side, there is no unhackable electronic system on earth.
