I saw in a debate that Liz Warren said with prompting from Rachel Maddow that there needs to be more Americans in the military. Fucking why? Why is this just taken as granted? What if they did literally anything else?

Incidentally, in Seattle where they raised the minimum wage to $15, they can't recruit anyone. Without poverty wages, nobody wants to enter the military.

Ps: and yeah $15 is still poverty wages, but the point stands

@interneteh I'll never forget that Jeb Bush's "please clap" came from a speech to supporters who were eagerly applauding everything he said, but he said something about how we need fewer wars or to bring soldiers home, and THAT was the moment they didn't know how to respond
