Ah this is a good place to sly all the people who are listing "3 Idiots" among their favourite films. It was such a terrible, pretentious, bullshit film. Raju Hirani has a talent for comedy but squandered it all at the altar of preachiness. (Compare Munnabhai 1 and 2). And 3 Idiots was the apotheosis of preachy Raju Hirani. To make matters worse whenever anyone hears I quit law to be a photographer they all say "oooh, like 3 Idiots!" and I have to smile and say "yes yes, uncle, just like that".

@vinayaravind

For your inputs @cowbai

@KnottedBow @vinayaravind never could watch the whole movie. I don't care how many people love it. My problem is that I have major issues with the education system, and the mug-up culture in India, but the way the movie approaches the issue totally upside down. Instead of saying scores aren't everything, we're told if you love what you do, you'll be the best at it. So if I'm not the class topper I should quit?
What the fuck
@KnottedBow @vinayaravind and agree that Munnabhai was a fast better protagonist, not least because he was fundamentally flawed and willing to be upstaged/corrected. I think the problem with Hirani-AK films is Khan himself.
I don't recall a single Aamir Khan movie this side of the century in which his character is ever wrong about anything.
