Well, this is a slightly quirky thing about us Communists, I do admit. It is not like Communism is an ideology that plugs in love for Russia or something like that. Nor, is it something that naturally happens in your daily practice of Communism and Theory. Nevertheless, something stirs us when we hear the Soviet Anthem, L'Internationale - which for some Communists is literally
something they can hear play by the hour!

I guess the love for the Soviet Union is something that is more intrinsic because of what it was....
- It was the first country that was created for and by the Working Class. It was not simply just for Slavs or other races of the now CIS countries. There were people from all over the world that were asked to come and be part of the Soviet experiment. Many oppressed races experienced their first taste of equality in the Soviet Union.
- World War 2 of course is a constant reminder of how immensely grateful the World should be to the USSR for crushing fascism in Europe, hunting down Nazis, and rebuilding itself in just 10 years from absolute destruction. And how? Because of Working Class ideology.
- Many Third World countries like India, especially, have a nearly umbilical connection to the Soviet Union for without their UNCONDITIONAL help, India would still be an unindustrialised shit hole.
- When the country was formed, its first National Anthem was the Anthem "L'Internationale".... a song that was born in France... a song sung by those Workers and Working Class leaders to rally people to struggle on. There was no Russian pride or any of that nationalistic jingoism.... a song from the workers announcing that the first Worker's State is born. That is immense.
And it is that about the USSR that makes me, a Communist, love it. I know that even though I am not Russian, the USSR was a country for me as a member of the Global Proletariat.
How many countries in the World ever did, or ever will.... Call you to be a part of it just because you are the Working Class? None.
