Airtel or Vodafone may be sold off to Adani at scrap rates but the Indian banks may have to write down 2.5 lakh crores!
@sushantsinha This is going down exactly the way the airline wars between Jet, Modiluft and Sahara went down in the nineties. Using policies to cripple and maim competition-a strategy perfected by politician and their crony business men.
@fakeer @sushantsinha True, but just as AI was driven to the wall to make way for all the pvt players, BSNL was the prime victim of the telcom can of worms from Day 1. BSNL was the last to be allowed to compete in every single segment of mobile telephony. Cronyism is one aspect; another is privatisation, by every possible means
@sritara @fakeer Yup there is no possibility of BSNL survival of anymore.
@sushantsinha @fakeer Those who weep now fearing a rise of monopoly power ought to see how they kept quiet when the only possible countervailing force was brought to its knees
@sritara @fakeer If the Govt or SC want to screw up some companies, no one can do anything about it. There is no countervailing force to that. If Govt listened to people, I would agree with you.
@sritara @sushantsinha Exactly. Politicians intentionally create a crisis in public utilities and services to create a feeling amongst people that these are just leeches. And that paves the way for support from the people for the politicians move to privatize. It’s happening in health services and education too. But as AAP has shown with schools Govt services can deliver quality with support and accountability.
