I have to say, Mastodon has swiftly reduced my interest in other SM. The only platform I've been using extensively is Instagram (I have like 9 handles 🤯) and yes, the grid inspires me but the algorithms are so fuckall. I have received more appreciation here for my work @aurpera than I have on IG in all these years. I get a genuine sense of safety, respect, love and warmth here. I cannot leave IG for work reasons but I really wish for an exodus to happen from there too.

@aura @aurpera Wow, more engagement here than on IG in all these years? I wonder why people use social media if they don't get interaction with others? Is that what social media companies spend so much time making happen?

@jookia we are at a really pathetic stage where you are expected to have a following on social media for your work to be credible. I have never known the secret to that and I hate creating content for likes. I post what I enjoy creating and whenever I want. Although I do have some loyal fans on IG who follow every account of mine, due to algorithms, they don't get to see most of my work. @aurpera

@aura @[email protected] Honestly, I don't want the IG crowd here. initial Exodus is from BirdSite where many people were politically aware and hence one can expect a certain level of maturity. IG, FB... I am not sure.
