'Roshe' is a sad Kashmiri folk song written by poetess-singer Habba Khatoon. She wrote it in the memory of her slain husband Yousuf Shah Chak (The last independent king of Kashmir).

On #CokeStudio13, Zeb Bangash & Rohail Hyatt have turned this song into a heartwrenching cry by the land of #Kashmir itself for lost peace & loved ones...😭💓🎵

Raw Mango recently unveiled a Kashmir inspired collection called Zooni.

Massively promoted it w/ videos n pics pretending Kashmir was a happy n jolly place.

They had to withdraw the line after massive backlash

Misogynist stupid asses trying to portray kashmiri woman as the frail personality she is, shy and modest in her being.
Totally undermining that she is facing a brutal colonization of her home and molestations by armed personals who have near total impunity against any rape torture killing or abuse.
Women have been the backbone if our struggle
I havent seen more courageous women elsewhere except palestine.

That Raw Mango campaign was shameless capitalism on the back of a human tragedy.

This IMHO is musicians *trying* to make the pain of Koshurs heard in the mainstream via music.

But eventually, as a Koshur yourself, your opinion obv. outweighs mine 🙂🙏)
