This is a historic day for the Hindu Rashtra, a narrow political vision built on hate, false history, and the use of violence to force adherence to majoritarian norms.

Indian top court gives Ayodhya holy site to Hindus

The land dispute has been bitterly contested by Hindus and Muslims for decades.

@audreytruschke Feels sickening to exist at a time like this. Will there ever be mass movements. Or may be we have failed as a democracy because we are self-centered and lack common sense.

@DefeatFascists @audreytruschke
For this event to happen they made sure there is complete collapse of democratic values and its institutions.

If the democracy was strong judiciary would not bend backwards
And we would not be witness to these events.

Real issues relating to common man are swept under the carpet.

@audreytruschke And a shameful day for those of us who have a conscience.
@audreytruschke Slowly it will force you to chant Jai Gau Mata
@audreytruschke they need more distractions and distraction in religious line work well. People will forget PMC bank, unemployment, poverty, Kashmir etc. Well timed.
Only the logic on basis of which the judgement delivered is not clear.
@audreytruschke What are the elements of false history used in the verdict? The whole birth place argument of a mythological character is of course not factual. But is it objectively true that there was no Hindu worship done ever at the location. That there was no such place of worship over which the Babri mosque was built?
@audreytruschke imagine the future down the road... From 20 yrs from now.. 🙄
@audreytruschke The lack of any response or resistance from the minority party in the verdict does seem to suggest that threat of violence has forced adherence to majoritarian norms. Maybe this is the official start of Hindu Rashtra when the SC deemed that faith and practices of Hindu religion is more important for the republic compared to other religions.
