The idea that leaving Twitter for other alternatives is akin to quitting a battle is erroneous. We don't sign up on SM platforms to fight. We don't HAVE to deal with trolls and bigots unleashed on us by a system that is designed to profit off of this interaction. Our FoE includes the right to engage on our own terms.

So stay if you wish to. Leave if you wish to. No value judgment attached to either. It's a goddamn social media profile!

@swati well even as this will get popular people who litter on twitter will also come in here, I wonder what is the difference. And if this site allow total freedom then government will snatch the domain name.

@iamchitranjanbaghi @swati Difference is that unlike Twitter which is centrally moderated, mastodon.social is moderated by dedicated mods. There is a strong policy against right-wing propaganda, racism, sexism, xenophobia. You need to report just once, with proper justification and these guys will throw them out. Right wingers can go ahead and start their own instance where they can mire in their filth, but if they come here, they will be shown the boot.
