In 1962, Everett Rogers developed information diffusion theory. As per this new technological innovations pass through different stages before being widely accepted.

First, few people become aware of them.

Second, a group of innovators adopt them aka early adopters

Third, opinion leaders adopt tgem who learn from early adopters

Fourth, followers of those opinion leaders come

Finally, a group of laggards, or late adopters adopt the platform.

We are somewhere between second and third phase.

There are a group of change agents, those who influence the early adopers and opinion leaders. In this case, change agents being @sanjayuvacha @naukarshah @prasanna_s @Deepsealioness
What we need to remember that after some time, when this platform becomes more known, a lot of 'influencers' with very large following are going to shift here, which will change the very nature of medium and result in 'dumbing down' of the media. What we need is remember is to stand our guard and not being swayed by the whole 'celebrities' shifting to this medium.
Remember that 'community controlled open source' medium of communication does not go well with the whole celebrity culture or capitalism in general, because they tend to lose a lot of money. In absence of advertising, a lot of sarcastic/popular faces who are actually digital marketers are going to try to make this centralized, more dumb, less political. Beware of these people!
@gsquare true but that is the fight isn't it.
@gsquare are there any inbuilt checks ? To prevent M becoming another version of birdsite?
