Why I am hopeful about this experiment.

The difference between a democratic decentralised control for internet town squaresy from what we are used to should be that

a) it should acknowledge no moderation is apolitical or unbiased
b) it should thus cultivate a bias towards justice, plurality, accountability, and safety.

That can only be done through democratic and transparent means, not by the market impulse for increased traffic.
