A few days ago I took a picture on a floppy drive equipped camera from 1997 at VGA resolution. Today, I viewed that picture on a Tandy 1000 from 1987, took a picture of that with my brand new cell phone and Now I'm uploading it to the fediverse from an XO-1 circa 2007.

That's a 40+ year full circle.

Minor technical note: the images don't display in the Mastodon web UI (at least for me on Firefox) -- looks like the problem is the extension (.jpe instead of .jpg or .jpeg), after downloading and renaming they work OK.

@dd_ Looks like a firefox specific issue, and a side effect of the way I did the transfer and upload. Thanks for alerting me.
