Luci Rockslike, what really irritates me most about linux is the casual expectation that it’s okay to require the terminal to do certain things. until someone is willing to build a UI that does a full mac classic style lockdown of everything, and make it just work without needing to configure it, linux is not taking general appeal seriously.

If I had realized that I might have understood why you thought I was referring to using the terminal on Linux. Yes, Linux does require terminal use to fix certain problems. Obviously that's suboptimal from a UI perspective.
@unspeakablehorror right i mean, it gets excused a lot, really, because it’s a bunch of people working for free, to make the software they want to use themselves. and the sort of people who prgram for free for fun are people who want and like software that needs or assumes programming skills.
@unspeakablehorror microsoft and apple pays programmers to make things maybe the programmers don’t always like.or agree with.
