I thought I'd prepare one of my old laptops with #Linux for my 7yo, so that he can start getting to know computers. What #distro would you guys recommend for this?
@automatron You could try my distro "PsychOS" if you'd like. It's already packed with several programs (almost 4GB ISO) out of the box, but is very low on RAM usage. However, it is 32-bit just to make sure it'll run on everything. I do need to make more videos explaining some of the features though. For now, I guess people only have my intro video and development notes to go on. https://theouterlinux.https://theouterlinux.gitlab.io/website/Projects/Linux/PsychOS/PsychOS.html. I'm currently working on 3.4.6, but have no idea when I'll finish.

@automatron Oh, and it already includes a Minecraft clone called Minetest. (lurking at the other comments). I also have a Minetest world for download in the Projects section to help get people started with ideas that I update every once in a while. I will warn you though, it may not be all that child friendly, something you might want to play around with first instead (I have a twisted sense of humor sometimes). I have screenshots.
@automatron Also, I'd like to note that I've hardened the security of it quite a bit. Reading the current release should hopefully explain some things. You might want to remove the "Install Tor Bundle" from the menu using the menu editor though. However, part of that script that does the work for that menu item needs to be fixed anyway. I might just remove it all together in the next release or come up with an updater for my custom made scripts.
@TheOuterLinux Thanks, man, I appreciated. Will definitely check it out for myself. But I think, it might not be the best option for a 7yo.
