I thought I'd prepare one of my old laptops with #Linux for my 7yo, so that he can start getting to know computers. What #distro would you guys recommend for this?

@automatron Ubuntu or mint are two good options. Best of luck! (And don’t forget to show them bash on the first day 😀)

@lackattack Thanks, I'll go with plain old Ubuntu then. I think I'll slowly work him into bash by showing him fish first, though :D Also I hope Minecraft runs on Linux, I don't even know, but he's a huge fan of it.

@automatron I know there is a Minecraft clone in the Ubuntu repos but not sure about a Linux port of the original. I want to say steam has a Linux Minecraft but not 100% on that.
