Hey y'all if we want Mastodon to be a welcome place then constantly dunking on birdsite run be pretty counter to that? A fair number of people use both, whether bc birdsite is better for advertising or they get things there they don't here, and so smugly posting about how you hope birdsite is dead whenever it goes down and the like can make everything feel pretty insular and elitist, like PC gamers being smug when a console game doesn't do well
@AzureHusky honestly I have to admit I went "thank you twitter" when i noticed it was down but really I still have a lot of use for it as a "art/commissions" account I might be nervous to actually lose that in full myself.
So I definitely hear you.
