@bartleby @amolith Yeah, protonmail clarified that it's BS. However: Did anyone try to use proton over the TBB bundle? It's ridiculously bad. That article is also correct on metadata. Metadata has to be protected too (but with regular e-mail it isn't.

@artixx @amolith Protonmail/CERN and The Register are known entities that I trust. On a superficial level, a lawyer making a sensational accusation on his blog isn't something I trust.
Companies that want to remain in business will have policies stating that they comply with the laws of their nation. I hear the Swiss govt is far more respectful of privacy rights than the US govt.
If I wanted to communicate with 100% assurance it couldn't be intercepted, I wouldn't use the Internet. 🇨🇭
