god. anyone who wants this to replace discord is not being realistic. it is WAY too hard to figure out what's going on, and i like, know things that a lot of people just don't

i dont like how i have no idea what other people can see about me, or what information is public. if i connect to irc can others see my ip address? what profile fields are publicly available? its REALLY unclear and i can't just... view my profile in the normal view profile view like i can on pretty much any other service

id be absolutely interested in running a matrix server for witches but for some reason it takes an ungodly amount of supercomputing strength for more than a handful of accounts and i cant afford that shit
