god. anyone who wants this to replace discord is not being realistic. it is WAY too hard to figure out what's going on, and i like, know things that a lot of people just don't

i dont like how i have no idea what other people can see about me, or what information is public. if i connect to irc can others see my ip address? what profile fields are publicly available? its REALLY unclear and i can't just... view my profile in the normal view profile view like i can on pretty much any other service

@anna yeah, I *want* a Discord replacement obviously, but Matrix has some deep-seated UI/UX issues & apparently some rather glaring security flaws that got exposed. I use it for one specific thing & I'd really rather someone come up with something better
