FASA AndrewDude from the company just called. The job I interviewed for two days ago went to someone else. I'm 56. It's nearly impossible to find an IT job that will even grant me an interview. Capitalism regards me as used up, too old to keep up, a spent resource. And people wonder why I'm a socialist.
Goblin@FASA_Andrew_1879 My Mom, who's an engineer, had the same problem when she lost her job a few years back (being the oldest at the company she was the first to go). She has a ton of experience and is still effective at her job but the only way she was able to find a new one was lowering her wage expectations. At the same time, younger people have a trouble with finding employement too. And all that when there's enough resources to give everyone a decent living if it was distributed differently.
@goblinrogue Yep. And people wonder why I'm moving further to the left and advocating socialism more as I grow older.
