AnewbiegmRan my first game of Shadow of the Demon Lord in a long, long time yesterday. Really enjoyed getting back into, what has to be, one of my favourite systems. Setting has some cool aspects to it, but I don't care about it anywhere near as much as I do about the system. #SotDL
Ciarán O'Brien@anewbiegm It's a fabulous system, isn't it? Now its grimdark setting is very much my jam but it's so flexible there'd be little trouble turning the game to cyberpunk or Call of Cthulhu or anything else.
@Sarklor You can clearly see Schwalb's Warhammer Fantasy pedigree in the setting. It's got a lot going for it, and when I played I loved my Orc Rogue/Ranger. Looking forward to Occult Philosophy when it comes out.
@anewbiegm Oh aye, my first impressions were "this is like WHFRP but without the GW family friendly evil", it's a firm favourite with my gaming groups. I backed Occult Philosophies and hoo boy the teasers Schwalb has released are wild. And the stretch goal adventures are *nasty*
@Sarklor It has a similar position in mine, along with Unhallowed Metropolis, and 7th Sea. That's excellent to hear, I think one of the smartest things that Schwalb did was have a plethora of those 7~ page adventures getting published regularly.
