Some girl in class tried to tell everyone that V for Vendetta and Fight Club were the same exact thing. When I asked her how she said because there is a twist in them. I told her I disagreed and she told me to just think about it. To which I responded:

"I did and I disagree."

Then she got mad at me and said it's probably because I haven't watched the movie; a claim she has no evidence for. She continued to get mad at me for calling her out on her bullshit theory. How does shit like this happen?

@RooTurboMoth At that stage in the conversation, "Just think about it" is shorthand for "Just go somewhere and think about it quietly, and don't tell me your thoughts. Think about it, not speak about it." An easy misinterpretation.

But also: having once called her out, there is no need to continue calling her out. The calling out has been made.

@ontploffing I called her out on it once and she continued to be mad the rest of the class because the class didn't agree with her after I had said something. She does this constantly to shut other people down while still feeling like she's impressed the professor she's trying to sleep with.
@RooTurboMoth Aaaaah. She takes the attacks on her arguments as attacks on herself.
Good luck, have fun, don't break anything you can't replace.
@ontploffing I can only be held so responsible but it's hard when you're already working with broken things.
@RooTurboMoth If you don't think you should be held responsible when something breaks, don't go around picking up the most-fragile china in the china shop. Safer to let it sit on its shelf, and only interact with the more-robust pieces.
