For everyone that doesn't remember May of last year, I was suspended for 10 days bc I told someone that was sending me racist comments + death threats (he said that I should be shot + drowned like the dog I am) + threats of deportation + violence (I should be shot or deported like an MS-13 animal).
Twitter thought that *I* was "abusive" by "trying to silence his voice" by calling him a violent bigot, telling him to leave me alone and fuck off.
His account was never punished + He changed his @
That time, I was told to "look at context" when the threats and the comments were CLEAR AF.
This time I was mass reported by TERFs that congregate in @Glinner's mentions and exist only to word search, abuse trans women or allies, and tag in a bunch of large accounts that share their BIGOTED ideology and demand that they mass report them.
I guess in this situation, Twitter failed to GAF about "context" and look at what I was responding to. +
Even if I was out of line in my response to blatant bigots who were harassing some of my followers, (I don't feel that I was though) Twitter should have at the very least given me the opportunity to delete the tweets and reinstated my account.
The fact that they waited 11 days to respond, only to give me an automated message of "you will not be reinstated because of abuse" without the chance to even speak with anyone is frustrating beyond belief.
While I am sad and really frustrated because I lost my longtime account, I will not apologize for calling bigots what they are- EVER.
I would gladly lose my account if it meant that even for a few minutes that people in that conversation got a reprieve from these disgusting trolls harassing them.
Twitter needs to get its shit together and protect marginalized people and not allow abusers mass reporting like this to overrule their actual ToS.
Anyway, I will miss everyone so much. You have all made a huge impact on my life and I'm so sad that I won't be a part of everything that is happening in the Twitterverse.
