I feel pretty iffy about Mastodon allowing animated gifs as profile photos. They're distracting at best and make the site unusable and harmful at worst. I really encourage folks to not use images that flash or move quickly. Using static images instead of gifs helps folks with seizure disorders and cognitive differences.
