Hey Mastodon fronds

I'm getting close to a technical implementation of the NZ Mastodon Project.

There'll be legal stuff to do after (CoC, ToS, insurance), but, it's getting to where it's feasible.

So.

Funding.

To do this, to make this work, I will have to charge money. Can we have a frank conversation about what's reasonable here, what's viable, what's even sensible?

My opening thoughts are NZD$10/mo.

@aurynn This seems like a pretty reasonable amount to me at least to begin with. Having run these kind of things before and knowing the real cost of making it Sufficiently Good

@aurynn this is always where it gets difficult for me though because people aren’t used to paying what web stuff actually costs, because too much of it has horrible disingenuous funding models that set people’s expectations :P
