(4)with them being raised by the same cold manipulative cult leader bastard that's trying to get them to turn into a god-creature(think an amalgamation of frollo and mother gothel, then add like 5 levels of holier-than-thou prejudice) it's a very fun situation of them being influenced towards ignoring 'mortal' cares and needs but still being compelled from their better side and their painfully mortal empathy to care about others
