This is my #warlock, #Silas. He doesn't know he's a warlock, though. He believes himself to be a powerful wizard, not realizing that his magic abilities actually are granted to him by his pet chicken, who is the emissary of an otherworldly chicken god.

He was a lot of fun to paint! This is one of the most detailed figures I've done. I love the slightly steampunk-ish vibes you get from all those straps and belts. He's a lot of fun to play as, too!

@rettaroo excuse me.

could you... could you run that by me again, please? A pet chicken... that's the emissary of a fowl eldritch god?

@hawkjohenson

Exactly!

Basically, Silas was trying to become a powerful wizard... But was not very good at it. But he decides to go on a mission anyway, to prove himself and try to recover a powerful artifact he read about in a book, that supposed to help him wield magic. He can't seem to find the legendary artifact, but he does find... A chicken.

@hawkjohenson
Well, geez, that's just his luck. He keeps her safe as they leave the dungeon. Then he realizes somethings changed... He can use magic now! And the chicken- he picks her up and she turns into a sword! How cool is that! He must be a powerful mage after all!

Little does he know she's actually working for Gallus, an otherworldly diety, with goals and machinations at work far greater than this human fool can fathom... But he'll certainly be amusing to observe for a few decades. (2/2)

@rettaroo well this is just the god damn best warlock origin story I've ever heard. :D
