reminder: "literally" has been used as an intensifier for centuries, and by such authors as F Scott Fitzgerald, Charlotte Brontë, and James Joyce.

and even if it hadn't, language evolves, and linguistic prescriptivism always fails. it just makes you seem pedantic and annoying.

@jacethechicken YES. Double negatives have also been used as intensifiers. And flat adverbs (i.e. "slow" in "drive slow") are also correct and old as hell.
