God it's like every dude I know too. You can just imagine them as kids learning to hold it all in just like their dads

@KatsudonJones It's so sad, though. The problem is everywhere, and a lot of men just assume that they're not supposed to express anything ever.

It took me a long time to realize that it's okay to be honest and open with your own emotions.

@KatsudonJones i've been working thru this with my boyfriend.
he's a good guy but he was raised with an incredibly, poisonously macho father. he always copes with stress by constantly making jokes, to the point of inappropriateness, and i've been trying to explain to him how unhealthy it is for me to be the only one he opens up to emotionally besides his sister and mom.
i feel terrible for him. it breaks my heart.
