Apple Watch Series 4 anecdote: I have the $$ to buy one now, but many configs are sold out EVERYWHERE around Chicago.

Apple Store app says none available, ship estimate is a month from now.

Macy’s says none available within **100 miles**. Best Buy says it can arrive by this Fri, but I’m kinda skeptical.

I called my Apple Business account rep, and *they* can’t even order one for in-store pickup. “This is kind of unprecedented. They’re harder to get than the phone right now.”

😳

Update: Apple Watch arrived from Best Buy right on time. The reviews are right, this is a serious upgrade, especially in the Watch face and app launch time department. Apps are usable now.
@chartier Which model were you wearing before? My Series 3 hasn't felt sluggish to me, but I believe watchOS 5 gave it a little pep, much as iOS 12 did for my iPhone 6S.

@pantse_macabre Series 2. I definitely feel it in lots of places, from switching faces, to opening rarely used apps, to Siri’s response window, and even when tapping a complication to view that app’s current content.

Huge upgrade for me all around. I don’t think I’ve seen a spinning progress indicator yet, and I’m trying tons of apps.

@chartier ok, those I still see now and again, but my only grief after watchOS 5 is that the untethered WiFi does not work with my office's fancy schmancy WiFi network
