Back in 2002-2009 I had a personal blog on #LiveJournal.

I found lots of new friends there. Half of them I met later in real life. I had even fallen in love once and had been left with a broken heart. :)

That was all way before the #Facebook "like& share" philosophy.

The dominating type of social media were forums and journals, and the main means of communication were comments. People would converse via comments, would discuss stuff, would get to know each other.

The main reason I hate #Facebook model is not because they might spy on me, but because they invented the illusion of communication without actually having to communicate. Like & share, and be done with it.

People are talking less to each other, even if on the internet. Group conversations (forums, public chats and such) have almost died down. Journals also. It's getting more and more difficult to meet new people and get to know them.

And I have feeling that it will only get worse.
