Never seen either, give me reason to lov elementary and a reason to hate pantheon.

(I done suse, slack, ubuntu, debian, arch, slitas, tinycore, puppy, slitaz,slax, rh, arch, ... nt a noob without a basis for comparison)

It is very, very, very similar in appearance to the default MacOS DE.
