In Gen VI Snow Warning was changed so that instead of lasting until replaced, it now lasts for five turns. But it allows Blizzard, a move with 110 power and 70% accuracy, to bypass accuracy checks AND to can hit through Detect and Protect 30% of the time.
So it's nice for Icy types.
It also allows Aurora Veil to be used, which is also nice.
