@mydogisahusky Been digging a bit about the solar observatory article. Two more references - https://www.popularmechanics.com/space/telescopes/a23107258/fbi-new-mexico-observatory/ and https://www.alamogordonews.com/story/news/local/2018/09/07/sunspot-observatory-south-cloudcroft-closed-due-security-issue/1227788002/ I can't conceive of a scenario that involves "security" for a science-based installation, unless something highly unusual was going on. It reads like the beginning of a scifi story, so I'm intrigued.
The FBI Mysteriously Close New Mexico Observatory

Staff have been evacuated and the FBI has sent agents and a Blackhawk helicopter to the site, without telling anyone what's going on.

@TallTim
Apparently lots of "black beret" military in Blackhawk helicopters landing up there.
@mydogisahusky Followup, keeping it in this thread #solarobservatory people say "Hey really, no aliens" which I found a bit funny. Then what the hell is going on? Did they detect imminent supernova? Coronal Mass Ejection scenario? Its just weird to me, honestly. Reference - https://www.oregonlive.com/today/index.ssf/2018/09/it_definitely_wasnt_aliens_wee.html
'It definitely wasn't aliens': Weeklong evacuation of solar observatory still a mystery

A spokeswoman for the nonprofit group that runs the facility said the organization was addressing a "security issue," but would offer no additional information, other than, "I can tell you it definitely wasn't aliens."

@TallTim
Well, if they are travelling within light itself, or on light. a solar observatory would be a nice portal to land in.
