Saying it’s failed leaves open the possibility that it can be fixed. Acknowledging that it’s working as designed makes it clear that it can’t.

@SelfsameSynonym I'm not sure that it was designed to be like this. More a bug that wasn't anticipated and somehow can't be fixed. Could just as easily, and probably more correctly, be stated as flaws in 'democracy.' e.g. "Citizens United."

We don't have 'free markets." Wasn't that supposed to be the goal?
