I JUST realized, at the end of the first season, that #MakingIt must be sponsored by Etsy.

I kept listening to the one judge go on about "oh, this is popular on Etsy, there's a lot of this on Etsy", shut the hell up about Etsy

but if it's /sponsored/ by Etsy? that makes sense.

that would surprise me considering they have ads for some other craft type site sprinkled in to the show

i think one judge in particular just got a lot of fame/attention from etsy initially and therefore had a vested interest in pointing people there. most of the etsy refs i've seen have been from that one judge
