Another quirky thing my notebook recently started doing is ignoring x's. I'm tempted to do a factory reset but since I inadvertently bought a new device without an SD slot--one of my few /dislikes/ about this machine--I don't yet have anything to back it up on and really don't want to start over, yet again, on another computer. It'd be the third time in just over a year.

@EuphoriaLavender I would be more worried that the keyboard issues are actually hardware and not software, though I suppose a reset would clear that up for sure.

Also, is it a relatively new device?

@Supernova

I got it about a month ago and I've been mentally dismissing the "It's a hardware issue" thoughts due to having sent back my last laptop shortly after getting it because I was told by Microsoft and Samsung support that something I was sure was a driver issue was hardware related, only to find out that being without it for far too long really was just a driver thing that I could've easily repaired on my own if someone had told me where to restore a good driver from.

@EuphoriaLavender Have you tried to update the keyboard driver on this computer?

@Supernova

I should probably delve deeper into Windows 10 tech but I just haven't felt like it yet and it kind of peeves me that it's necessary. I've spent far too many hours searching online for remedies to this mystery without coming up with any good answers yet.

@EuphoriaLavender Yeah, it's frustrating to have to do a ton of research just to try and get things running the way they should. When you spend enough money on a computer, it should just work the way it's intended to!
@EuphoriaLavender I also wish I had more insights on Windows 10, but my systems (work and home) run 7, and I stay hands off on my wife's tech (though I'm due to inherit my wife's old notebook, which has 10 on it, so maybe I can start learning it better)

@Supernova

Windows 10 has some great features but it also entails giving more control to Microsoft, as well as more commercial stuff. I'm wishing that someone will make an #IdiotProof #SuperEasy Linux install, if that sort of thing is even possible.

@EuphoriaLavender I feel that must exist on at least one of the major Linux distros. That's another one of those things I'm looking to try out once I get the hand me down computer (my "home" computer is also a work issued device).

I think I could be considered a "wannabe" nerd LOL

@EuphoriaLavender Also, if I was going to try out Linux, this would be my starting point:
