There's so much I love about having Ubuntu as my main OS, in particular for Deep Learning related tasks with a lot of data handling and many remote machines. However, as a "lazy" user of technology on a daily basis, things that annoy me just keep piling up. This might be spilling oil onto the flames of all you "linux doesn't work anyways" people out there (I don't agree), but here's my current list of personal issues anyway.
@florianletsch these are the reasons I'm stuck on a Mac. Every time I switch back to a Linux laptop, I end up losing a day to sudden driver breakage, or I plug in a projector and suddenly all displays stop working, and it turns out that while I find those to be fun problems to solve, my bosses don't usually agree.
@complexadaptive Everyone at my office is on Linux and it works pretty well "most of the time" (tm).
But I feel you. Have been on this setup for 12 months straight, but am considering going back to macOS again. We have a "spare" macbook at the office, so I think I'll just move and evaluate for a week or two.
