remembering for no reason that i used to get mad at my dad when i was a kid for being better at NES than me, esp since he'd play through most of the night after sending me to bed

now it's absolutely funny because i will totally pull that shit if i ever have kids

@strelok I have such fond memories of my brothers and I watching my dad kick Gannon's ass in the original Legend of Zelda. I know it was 8-but graphics, but DAMN was it epic.
@madmikeyy @strelok Same. My dad used to get home from work and we'd have "family video game time" where we watched him play Zelda and he convinced us it was definitely more fun than playing ourselves. Legend.
@comradeyouspurs @strelok It honestly was, for us! We were just young enough where the motor skills weren't as fine tuned as they needed to be. Case in point: the first big jump in Level 1-1 of Super Mario Bros? I literally could not make that for a few weeks after getting the system.
@madmikeyy @strelok agreed. and it's a memory i treasure way more than the game.
@comradeyouspurs @strelok Absolutely! My dad died when I was 18, so playing Legend of Zelda games now just makes me think of him. 😊
