whenever someone exclaims « without capitalism, who will build the roads?! » i think of all the busted and unimproved roads in my town and the anarchist road crews that fix them ❤️✊️🏴
the Portland Anarchist Road Crew (PARC) uses some inexpensive, low-labor techniques to provide 2-5 year patches to holes, cracks, etc. and they act on the infrastructure that the city ignores. while the city development commission paves tourist thoroughfares over and over and over, our neighborhoods becomes grit and gravel. who builds the roads? we do! ✊️✊️✊️
@garbados Um, who do they think built the roads the first time? It wasn’t independent contractors sorted out by the free market...
@garbados
The capitalists don't build roads they just use them
@Vopo @garbados reminds me the sidewalk in front of my house needs fixing. It's inaccessible by wheelchair rn.
@garbados
Also, like... ffs, we'll build the roads. Capitalism doesn't actually build roads now???
@garbados roads are about the clearest example of state funded infrastructure I can imagine like the Sumerians had roads, Medieval France had roads, the USSR had roads, peeps got roads

@garbados i am in love with this whole conversation.

i just needed to say that.
