Sincere question: a non-zero number of people told me that I have to put my posts about US politics behind a content warning. Is that a policy on this instance? Because it seems kind of silly to follow a person, and then tell them how they are supposed to post things.

I'm trying to understand what's normal around here, and figure out if I'll keep using this thing, or find somewhere else to go.

@wilw depends on the rules the host your on. You could always just spin up your own host, or pick a different host.

I think some people take things a bit too far and put content warnings up even around photos of their lunch... 🙄

@archie4oz @wilw I do CW food, for two reasons:

The 1st is ppl who participate in Ramadan can have it made harder by lots of food content online (& in practice not everyone gets to decide whether to fast).

The 2nd is out of consideration for ppl who may be recovering from eating disorders, etc. That process is delicate & hard. Periods of rest between Oh God Food Feelings make sense to me as necessary.

Even if neither made sense though, I've been asked & it's not hard so I do.
