Is there any way to filter out all non-English posts?

@crowdyke There used to be, at least. Go to Settings (fourth icon, gearwheel), right panel, the wider one, is a "Filter languages
When checked, only toots in selected languages will be displayed in public timelines" option. Check every language box EXCEPT English.
