The apps i cant open without google play services are:
- gmail (understandable)
- google calendar
- google maps (it opens but location doesn't work)
- pushbullet (go figure)

As soon as I find substitutes, I can go #googleless a lil bit more.

@0x3F ah I'm also having issues installing yalp store via fdroid.
@nonlinear
I blv the yalp problem has been fixed. Maybe update the Repo's? @fdroidorg
@0x3F

@nonlinear @0x3F try OsmAnd as a replacement for Google Maps: https://osmand.net

K9Mail for GMail App replacement.

@rysiek @0x3F yes. Google maps is creepy anyway... It can't even remember your history if you dont let google remember it too.

And don't get me started on the "help other users by taking pictures inside this store"

OSM is the way to go.

Re k9, I know its powerful, but is it pretty? Last time I saw it tried to cram a lot on their interface.

@nonlinear @0x3F I have been using Open Street Maps (OsmAnd) and not missing google maps.

Maybe try different mail provider (fastmail, protonmail...) and forward (for start) from gmail?
@0x3F

@kokan @0x3F the email part will be slower.

I’m used to move from one email to another, leaving previous one as backup... I just Need to make the jump.

But later. It makes more sense to decouple calendar and contacts from it, before jumping ship.
