I have always pronounced it with soft e, to like it with the metal, considering how the physics in game make it behave..

However, I hear others pronounce it with the long E sound..

As long as understood, I guess no difference, no harm, no foul...

@noelle I always thought it was “led”, not “leed”. I can see how the latter one makes a bit more sense, given how the weapon works, but I have stuck with my interpretation for so long that I would weird myself out by pronouncing it the other way. 🙃
