Henderson Independent School District announced Wednesday that it will continue reviewing its partnership with Lifetouch Photography while moving forward with yearbook production. The decision allows campus yearbook staff to complete orders that many families have already placed and to honor contracts already in effect, as picture dates have passed for several campuses.

The announcement follows the recent controversy surrounding Lifetouch’s alleged involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Senate investigators have linked Leon Black, former CEO of Apollo Global Management—owner of Shutterfly, Lifetouch’s parent company—to payments of at least $158 million to Epstein that were alleged to have funded his child‑sex‑trafficking operation. Henderson ISD emphasized that student safety and well‑being remain its highest priority and cited Lifetouch’s assurance that all previously taken student photographs remain secure and are accessible only to families and authorized district officials.

The district clarified that the limited information shared with Lifetouch consists of basic roster data—student name, grade level, and photograph—used for yearbooks and school records. Families at Wylie Elementary and Wylie Primary may opt out of the upcoming spring picture day by contacting their campus office. Lifetouch issued a statement denying any executive relationship with Epstein, asserting that it has never shared student images with third parties and that Apollo’s acquisition of Shutterfly occurred after Epstein’s death.
